Rebates

Rebates and tax credits

Can insulation or air sealing qualify for rebates in southern Utah?

Yes, some projects may qualify depending on the work performed. Southern Utah homeowners may be able to use the federal 25C tax credit and a Rocky Mountain Power insulation rebate. Dixie Power’s current rebates cover heat pumps and electrical-service upgrades, not insulation. The free inspection identifies the recommended scope and which programs may apply.

Do you help with rebate and tax-credit paperwork?

Yes. We document the materials, scope, and measurements needed for the applicable programs and give you the records for your submission. You file the federal tax credit at tax time and submit utility rebates with the project paperwork.

Is there a federal tax credit for adding insulation?

The federal 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement tax credit can apply to qualifying insulation and air sealing improvements. The exact amount depends on your project and your tax situation, so we provide the materials and scope records you need and recommend confirming the credit with your tax preparer.

Comfort and Energy Bills

Hot rooms, cold rooms, and high bills

Why is my house so hot upstairs in summer?

Hot upstairs rooms in St. George are often caused by low attic insulation, air leaks from the living space into the attic, duct leakage, or poor attic ventilation paths. Our inspection checks those conditions so the fix is based on evidence instead of guessing.

How do I lower my cooling bill in St. George?

The most common first steps are improving attic insulation, sealing attic air leaks, sealing leaky ducts, and keeping attic ventilation paths open with baffles where needed. Eco Insulation uses thermal imaging and pressure testing to find which upgrades fit your home.

My home is cold in winter. What fixes that?

Cold rooms can come from thin attic insulation, air leaks, duct leakage, or uneven heat delivery. Air sealing and the right attic insulation level help keep heated air inside the living space instead of losing it into the attic.

My home is hot — how do I cool it down?

Start with the attic. In most homes the biggest summer heat gain comes from an under-insulated attic, air leaks between the living space and the attic, leaky ducts, and trapped attic heat. A free home energy inspection with thermal imaging and pressure testing shows which of these is driving your heat, so you cool the home by fixing the cause instead of just turning the thermostat down.

Insulation Types

Products, R-value, and what fits your home

What insulation product do you install?

We install CertainTeed Insulsafe SP loose-fill fiberglass insulation. It is blown into the attic as an even blanket that fills around framing, wiring, and small obstructions better than many batt installations.

Do you install solar attic fans?

Yes. Eco Insulation installs solar attic fans, which use a built-in solar panel to actively exhaust hot air from the attic on sunny days. They work alongside passive baffles and ventilation to clear built-up heat, and because they run on the sun they add nothing to your power bill. The inspection tells us whether a solar attic fan is a good fit for your attic.

What R-value should my attic be? Is R-30 enough?

Most current building codes call for about R-49 in the attic, while many existing homes were built to R-30 or R-38 — so a lot of homes are under-insulated by today’s standard even though they met code when built. R-value measures how well insulation resists heat flow; higher is better. Our inspection measures your current attic depth and tells you whether topping it up is worth it for your home.

What is the difference between insulation and air sealing?

Insulation slows heat moving through the attic and ceiling. Air sealing closes gaps where conditioned air escapes and outside air enters. They solve different problems, and they work best together.

How do I know if I need more insulation?

Common signs are rooms that never reach a comfortable temperature, energy bills that keep climbing, drafts, and an attic where you can see the tops of the ceiling joists above the insulation. The only way to know for sure is to measure it — our free inspection checks your attic depth and air leakage and tells you plainly whether more insulation will help.

Process

The inspection and working with us

What happens during a home energy inspection?

We look for the issues that make homes uncomfortable and expensive to heat or cool, including low attic insulation, air leaks, duct leakage, and blocked attic ventilation paths. We use thermal imaging and pressure testing to make the recommendations more accurate.

Is the inspection really free?

Yes. Eco Insulation provides a free home energy inspection in southern Utah with no obligation to buy. Call 435-216-3130 to schedule, and we will inspect the attic, insulation, air leaks, ducts, and ventilation needs before explaining the findings plainly.

Do you test windows and doors?

No. We focus on insulation, air sealing, ducts, and attic ventilation, diagnosed with thermal imaging and pressure testing. We do not test windows, doors, or walls, and we do not claim whole-home testing.

How much does attic insulation cost?

It depends on the size of the attic, the insulation depth your home needs, and what else the inspection finds — so we do not publish a flat price that would be wrong for most homes. The free home energy inspection is how we give you an accurate, written quote with no obligation, and we also flag any rebates or tax credits that can bring the cost down.

Warranty

Our guarantees

What does Eco Insulation's lifetime warranty cover?

Our lifetime warranty covers insulation settling. If settling occurs, Eco Insulation provides a full replacement at no cost. It is how we stand behind attic insulation work that is hidden after installation.

Is there a satisfaction guarantee?

Yes. Eco Insulation guarantees satisfaction with the installation quality through redo-or-refund provisions. We do not consider the job finished until you are satisfied with our work.
